Thank you for the little helpful details, such as how long (7-10 minutes) to expect it to take before the custard coats the back of the spoon and that just a tiny drop of orange is all you need--things most cookbooks neglect to tell you, leading to confusion and frustration.

Could you use candy molds for the truffles?  (I mean, maybe that's what they were invented for--for people like me, who aren't so adept at the artistic thing . . . )  I hope you didn't throw your pliable-but-unwilling mixture away.  Mail it to me--I'll put it to good, and immediate, use!</description>
